MUSICAL BACKGROUND

IN SAN FRANCISCO

      During the peak of San Francisco’s Rock & Roll movement, Aulikki worked in sound engineering with Fred Catero Sound Company, at Mercury, Coast, and Colombia recording studios. She worked with Santana, Herbie Hancock, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Pointer Sisters, Lamb, and others.
      Many musical nights were spent jamming with Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane and Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead, at Jorma and Margaret’s home in San Francisco.

     In the beginning of the 1980’s, every Friday night, at the radio station KBBI 890 AM Homer, Alaska "Where The Sound Meets The Sea," Aulikki produced and DJ’d "The Fantasy Factory," her own popular Fusion Jazz and Blues show.
     For over eight years, through fall of 1999, every Saturday night, Aulikki offered her time to the radio station KBBI 890 AM Homer, Alaska, and the last two years also to KDLL 91.9 FM Kenai, Alaska. She produced and DJ’d "The Heart Of Saturday Night," the hottest blues show on the south side of the arctic circle.
     In addition to Alaska, her show "The Heart Of Saturday Night" has been heard live, as far as Trondheim, Norway.
