Information on the Photo Below

In Asia, working elephants are used in more than a dozen countries, and their number totals about 15,000 to 16,000. The use of elephants ranges from tourism to logging, from religious ceremonies to doing tricks with street beggars. In some countries, working elephants also are an essential part of nature conservation - in anti-poaching patrolling and arresting poachers, in conservation research and in various rescue operations. These elephants are utilized in giving rides to tourists at the village of Sauraha in Chitwan, southern Nepal.
